The Project Scheduler will be responsible for the planning, development, and coordination of project schedules, including tracking issues, analyzing data and providing reports. The Scheduler will work closely with Project Managers to effectively plan and schedule construction resources in an efficient manner that minimizes downtime, maximizes productivity and adheres to company business processes, safety policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Create basic timelines (Baseline) according to project requirements;
  • Allocate and level resources according to their availability;
  • Create and update master schedules detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive
  • Create and update detailed schedules in conjunction with construction work packages
  • Create and update schedules for demolitions, decommissioning, shut-downs and tie-ins of existing systems
  • Maintain master schedule for the project and identify and record the impact of work performed according to the schedule
  • Coordinate and track schedules with Subcontractors and Suppliers
  • Coordinate schedules for design submittals into master schedule
  • Integrate testing, start up and commissioning into master schedule
  • Evaluate construction progress and provide regular schedule update reports
  • Proactively identify problems or conflicts in the project schedule and assist the Project Manager(s) and/or Superintendent(s) in effectively managing a resolution

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • College or university degree

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of planning/scheduling experience in the Industrial Construction Industry

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient user of:
    • Primavera (P6 or newer)
    • MS Project, an asset
    • MS Office
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of construction scheduling, planning, and execution
  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules, solve schedule conflicts under pressure and understanding the complex building sequence
  • Ability to coordinate & organize multiple sources of schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required
  • Strong technical ability, proficient with drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, reports and budgets
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Organization and time management
  • Field experience (an asset)
