ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Project Management and Governance Intern will support the Project Managers in all aspect of their job. This will include but is not limited to project management tasks, communication, governance activities, analysis. The role will require the intern to lean on the use of the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, PowerBI) as well as Monday.com (Project and Portfolio Management) as well as ManageEngine (ticketing software). As an outcome the Intern will be expected to learn the fundamentals of project management including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, governance, change management, workforce management, communication, governance, reporting and documentation management.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support PMs manage projects within our Corporate Services Group (Finance, HR, Fleet, IT) or Business Lines (Construction, Service, Facilities, Utilities) and vendors. Coordinate stakeholders through scheduling, documentation, development or project plans, and supporting artifacts
  • Help PMs stay on top on top of projects in support of commitments managing to KPIs, KRIs, and project milestones
  • Support the Project Intake Process (review, due diligence, challenge, prioritization, approval)
  • Support the build out of our new Portfolio Management Tool, templates, process and governance
  • Enhance project management capabilities by contributing to the development of best practices, templates, policies, and tools
  • Leverage existing tooling, playbooks, and best practices from our center of excellence to drive project success

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or diploma with preference given for the following disciplines: construction, engineering, computer science
