Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Journeyperson HVAC Technician - Service based out of Toronto Pearson Airport to support our Facilities Management & Operations.

The Journeyman HVAC Technician will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain and various HVAC/R systems and components
  • Replace and upgrade existing systems and components related to the HVAC trade
  • Respond to emergency service calls within our client base
  • Identify deficiencies and make recommendations to clients
  • Complete work orders, deficiency reports, field quotations, estimates and daily time summaries in a timely fashion
  • Replacement of various types of equipment (small projects)
  • Perform scheduled maintenance as assigned
  • May be required to work weekend overtime shifts and or statutory holidays
  • Maintain a professional demeanour

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 313A Certificate of Qualification
  • Valid G1 Gas license
  • ODP and TSSA Brazing Certified

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Journeyman performing service, maintenance, upgrades and installations for ICI (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial) sites
  • Any related manufacturer factory training is an asset

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to apply for obtain and maintain necessary security clearance (RAIC) including transportation security clearance.
  • Must be able to apply for obtain and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators’ Permits (AVOP)
  • Valid G driver’s license
  • Strong mechanical and electrical/controls ability and problem solving skills
  • Good physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to work well with coworkers and clients
