Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario Business Development team is growing! If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the proposal production process (with oversight of Proposal Manager).
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to coordinate and prepare proposal responses to Expressions of Interest (EOI); Requests for Qualifications (RFQ); Requests for Proposal (RFP); and Requests for Information (RFI),
  • Responsible for reviewing and interpreting RFP and RFQ documents and determining requirements for successful proposal submission. Liaise with client contact regarding proposal deliverables.
  • Write, proofread, edit and format proposal content which may include adapting existing content, boilerplates (in consultation with proposal manager) to ensure a cohesive proposal. Ensure each proposal submission is submitted within the established deadline.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team for graphics/visuals for proposal submissions
  • Create, maintain and update library with standard marketing materials such as project profiles, resumes, etc.
  • Support ad-hoc business development initiatives such as preparing marketing materials for client presentations as required
  • Proposal Coordinator monitors and identifies opportunities on public portals and notifies the Division Managers of opportunities.
  • Assist with document control and management to support various pursuits
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years of marketing/business development/proposal or related experience, preferably in the Engineering or Construction industry
  • Writing, Editing and Proof-reading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to work on multiple initiatives and adhere to submission deadlines
  • Superior communication skills and ability to work as part of team

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proposal coordination in a construction setting is an asset
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and PDF editing software
