The Cost Analyst works closely with the Regional Controller, the accounting and cost control teams to ensure accurate and timely valuation of WIP.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and review monthly WIP analysis to ensure correct billing and costs reported
  • Review WIP Summary Report to ensure accurate projections
  • Review monthly accruals; reconciliations of accounts
  • Review vendor invoices; ensure all billed to correct job with correct mark-ups and in accordance to contract
  • Ensure billing is completed for external and direct jobs on monthly basis
  • Monthly reconciliation of payroll data to billing
  • Run profit recognition
  • Set up, maintain and close jobs in JDE
  • Prepare the monthly accrual listing and open commitment accruals for client
  • Prepare rates sheets and rate tables for trades
  • Prepare weekly recovery report of all Project Management Team
  • Evaluate and run fixed assets report, post depreciation monthly
  • Prepare monthly OHSA hours
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Project Management and Project Controls
  • Review current processes and procedures; establish or change procedures as required
  • Other reports and duties as required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent
  • CPA accreditation completed (or in progress) is an asset

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience in a nuclear/construction (or related) environment is preferred
