The Proposal Manager will respond to formal and unsolicited requests (i.e. Capabilities/Experience packages, Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Qualification/Pre-Qualification (RFQs), Expressions of Interest (EOI), etc.) while maintaining quality and stakeholder relationships.

This position will interact with multiple teams within the FM and Energy/Sustainability organization, as well as strategic partners and subcontractors, to assist in the preparation of carefully thought out service delivery solutions and proposals. The Proposal Manager will create cohesive and coherent narratives through the integration of information provided in various formats (pre-written, verbal, graphic). The role will manage internal proposal deliverables relating to text and graphic development (the Response) and will support team members in their tasks as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • On assigned opportunities and special projects, lead the proposal production process by liaising with contributors from all levels of the organization and various Subject Matter Experts
  • Provide quality assurance for all documents and materials
  • Bring creativity and flow to published and submitted documents
  • Ensure due diligence of proposal production and submission of fully compliant bids
  • Serve as the primary contact for all facets proposal development as assigned including other assignments in support of Business Development (BD)
  • Coordinate multiple groups in the preparation of proposals
  • Facilitate the completion, review and editing of documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the BD team and the FM Business line at Black & McDonald

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in Journalism, Graphic Communications, Creative Writing, or business development

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years’ experience in proposal or professional writing preferred
  • Experience working in an engineering, architecture, property management / real estate or construction environment preferred
  • Superior level of Writing, Editing, and Proof-reading skills. Taking input from many sources and compiling into cohesive, flowing narratives and responses is key.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, or similar)
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign) is beneficial but not required
  • Ability to integrate information from various sources
  • Ability to analyze requirements and anticipate appropriate responses
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of individuals
