The HSE Advisor is located in St. Louis, MO and typically reports directly to the Regional Health & Safety Manager. The HSE Advisor will be responsible to ensure compliance with Corporate and Regional Safety Policies as well as regulatory requirements at operations in Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participation in development of policies and procedures
  • Conduct and/or coordinate compliance training for all employees
  • Assist in the promotion of Black & McDonald’s Internal Responsibility System
  • Development and promotion of safe work practices and procedures
  • Conduct any necessary incident investigations and report to required personnel
  • Conduct jobsite audits of safe work practices and procedures
  • Coordinate and facilitate Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Responsible for compliance with all governmental or client regulations
  • Assist in management of Worker's Compensation claims
  • Other Health and Safety responsibilities as assigned
  • Travel required – up to 75%
  • Can live in either St. Louis or Kansas City, but will be over the St. Louis market

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental or related field; or commensurate experience
  • 3+ years Safety and Health experience
    • o Candidates without degree will be considered with commensurate experience

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have working knowledge of OSHA regulations and FMCSR
    • Experience in Electrical Transmission and Distribution is highly preferred
    • Strong interpersonal skills, displaying superior verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management and organization skills with ability to work collaboratively
    • Holds self and others accountable
    • Skilled in problem solving and innovation
    • Must have an aptitude for learning
