The ITS/Traffic Technician is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Department Manager]. Their primary focus is technical field support for Intelligent Traffic Systems products remotely or on site under the direction of the Project Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical/field support for ITS products remotely or on site
  • Travel to multiple jobs sites on weekly basis and provide support to installation team
  • System configuration and fine tuning
  • Attending training courses and webinars
  • Communicating with clients on regular basis and address questions/concerns
  • Communicating with manufacturers’ rep and addressing technical questions
  • Receiving orders and perform pre-installation test
  • Reporting to supervisor and provide daily reports
  • Checking ITS software for ongoing projects and provide daily status reports

  • Possess a university or college diploma in Transportation Engineering or related discipline.
  • Eligible for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or similar professional designation
  • IMSA certificate would be considered an asset


  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Engineering background would be an asset


  • Knowledge in the principles of traffic engineering technologies, theories and practices
  • Basic knowledge of traffic signal and ITS products
  • Basic knowledge of fiber network and communication
  • General qualifications such as fluent in English, communication and team player

Proficient user of:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Willing and able to travel to various sites around the GTA
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License
  • Security clearance requirements per Client requirements
