This opportunity relates to the modernization of the heating and cooling energy distribution systems to over 80 buildings in the National Capital Region. The ESAP project involves construction of four new central heating and cooling plants plus associated distribution piping networks over a period of five years, under a Joint Venture Partnership with another leading major Contractor. The Project Manager will have responsibility for a defined scope of work within an integrated project team. The Project Manager will oversee the engineering design, and be responsible to plan, organize, coordinate, procure, control and evaluate the scope of work from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and provide scheduling, planning, organizing of labor, and subcontractors
  • Manage the procurement and delivery of materials
  • Coordinate with electrical and controls
  • Manage the change order process for extras and revisions to the scope of work
  • Liaison with owner, engineers, subcontractors, and tradespersons
  • Monitor and increase labor productivity
  • Responsible for cost control and forecasting
  • Attend and run project meetings
  • Prepare and submit construction work packages and estimates as required
  • Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies
  • Ensure company safety policy is adhered to on all projects

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Degree or Diploma in

  • Construction Management
  • Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Advance knowledge and understanding of:

  • Contract management
  • Construction scheduling, planning, and execution
  • BIM 360 3D model design
  • Established mechanical practices, procedures and techniques
  • Applicable local and provincial labour codes
  • Business operations processes
  • Organization and time management

Proficient user of:

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Accubid
