The Mechanical QC Inspector, based in Bowmanville and reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, is responsible for performing inspections and tests for receipt, in-process, and final stages as directed. This role involves documenting all inspection and testing activities in alignment with Black & McDonald PGR's QA programs. The inspector collaborates with other teams to support Quality Program activities and ensures the highest safety and quality standards for both employees and the plant.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform receipt, in process and final inspection and test activities including maintaining accurate inspection and test status of items
- Interface with Regulatory Authorities
- Perform special process monitoring activities
- Ensuring correctness of Work Sign-off activities as related to inspection and test activities
- Aid with the implementation of the Quality Management System and Programs within PGR
- Preparation of Inspection and Test Plan(s) unless provided by client
- Coordination for Project QC activities, including interfaces with outside organizations (subcontractors)
- Liaison with Pressure Boundary jurisdiction
- Ensuring the preparation of the Manufacturer’s Data Reports
- Accurate and timely verification of inspections and tests shown in the Inspection and Tests plans or as otherwise assigned by the QC Supervisor
- Documentation of the results of the inspections and tests as required
- Ensure proper use and safe handling of measure and test equipment, including recording where used
- Identify and control nonconforming items according to Black & McDonald Procedures

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of College or University in a technical-related discipline or related experience (trades)
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 10 years of construction trades experience and:
- Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience including experience in non-conformance control, corrective action process and inspection and test plan generation.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Welding Inspector
- Certified CSA W 178.2 Level II or III
- Comprehensive knowledge of Codes and Standards
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Computer Literacy; MS Office, Outlook, and Excel
