The Project Manager/Estimator is located in East Syracuse, NY and typically reports directly to the Manager, High Voltage Testing and Inspection. Their primary focus is estimation and project management of utilities commissioning projects and testing/maintenance projects in the region. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Project management, marketing, estimating and bidding of electrical maintenance & testing work for a variety of customers, including industrial, commercial, utility, and generation facilities.
  • Scheduling of work and coordination of technicians, customers, sub-contractors, and equipment.
  • Monitor/oversee jobs to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
  • Communicate with customers, supervisors, and other team members regarding project status.
  • Review test results and reports with customers and recommend any follow up.
  • Work with customers to establish a maintenance & testing plan and schedule.
  • Support safety program policies, procedures, implementation, and compliance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Two-year degree in a related field such as construction management or electrical engineering technology.
  • Technical and/or trade education and/or field experience may also suffice in lieu of a degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-8 years’ experience working in utilities construction and/or electrical maintenance.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Detail oriented, motivated, self-starter with strong organizational & planning skills.
  • Understanding of electrical and general construction techniques.
  • Medium or high-voltage experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of computerized systems and Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of NETA, NICET, NERC, NFPA preferred.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel to sites around New York State
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
