The Division Manager is located in Ottawa, Ontario and reports directly to the Regional Vice President.

The Division Manager will develop and lead the execution of the Electrical Construction division’s business plan and overall day-to-day operations in accordance with Black & McDonald’s core values, policies, procedures, and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for the division’s operations in totality, including development of stakeholder relationships, business development and sales, safety compliance, people and resources, estimating, project execution, profit/loss outcomes, and overall conduct of the Company’s performance within the region as it relates to their designated area. The Division Manager will contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by setting a positive example for the team.

  • Drive compliance with provincial, client and company OHSE regulations and strive to achieve zero lost time injuries
  • Understands, encourages, and supports the promotion of W.J. McDonald’s Code of Business and works towards culture of continuous improvement through initiatives within the region
  • Support and encourage team to maintain business relations with all customers as well as to encourage, participate and promote the development of new and unique business opportunities
  • Ensures all procedures, processes and personnel adhere to Corporate Policy and maintains professional presentation of buildings, sites, vehicles, proposals, and personnel
  • Review and implement business plans, while ensuring budget requirements are met for cash flow, WIP, and net assets
  • Foster a climate within the division of cooperation and enthusiasm and where teamwork, morale and communication are enhanced

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Degree or Diploma in

  • Engineering
  • Business

The following certifications/designations are considered an asset

  • Gold Seal Certification
  • Construction safety certifications


Experience in the electrical trade may substitute for education requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years of management experience in the construction industry
  • Experience managing electrical construction projects is considered an asset
