The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the collection, verification, and processing of payroll information for union and non-unionized weekly Ontario and Quebec hourly payrolls.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administer and process the weekly union and non-union Ontario and Quebec hourly payrolls;
- Create and maintain employee master data to ensure accurate payment of wages and benefits using JD Edwards;
- Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees;
- Prepare employee payments and benefit payments by electronic transfer;
- Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits;
- Assist with the preparation of annual T4 and Releve 1 statements and records of employment;
- Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts;
- Assist with the weekly reconciliation of payroll deductions;
- Assist with the reconciliation and preparation of all supporting documentation for union remittances in accordance with the various agreements.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in a business administration/payroll program.
- Designation with Canadian Payroll Association would be considered an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administering is required.
- Experience working with unionized payrolls is considered an asset.
- Experience with Quebec payroll regulations is considered an asset.
- SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with JDE payroll processing is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
