Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Regional Controller located in Scarborough, Ontario. The Regional Controller will work in conjunction with the Senior Controller to plan and to execute the accounting and financial plan of the assigned Black & McDonald Limited Region in accordance with Corporate Policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize & direct the period close process including preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with established internal controls, including approval requirements with a keen eye toward cost control and accuracy
  • Ensure integrity of financial data and systems
  • Ensure management of general ledger and work in progress reporting
  • Participation of annual audit and various internal audits throughout the year
  • Complete and review month-end reconciliations and budget variance analyses
  • Manage cash flow
  • Provide financial recommendations & ideas when new business initiatives are proposed
  • Supervise, coach and mentor various teams within the finance department

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting and a degree in Finance and working towards a designation (CGA, CMA,CPA) is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Accounting Manager/Controller position providing support to construction projects
  • Strong Organization Skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Knowledge of JDE Edwards preferred
