The High Voltage Technical Services Representative is located in Toronto and typically reports directly to the Division Manager. Their primary focus is to maintain and commission power distribution equipment under the direction of Project Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Field testing, programing and verification of Low Voltage Trip Units from manufacturers such as ABB, Eaton, GE, Schneider and Siemens
  • Maintain and commission power distribution equipment such as circuit breakers, power transformers, HV/MV/LV Cables, HV Switches and Instrument Transformers
  • Read and interpret AC & DC schematics, logic diagrams, AC three-line, and SLDs
  • Inspect, test, operate and troubleshoot AC & DC control
  • Record, report and process electrical test information in accordance with accepted standard practices
  • Coordinate activities on jobs such as HSE compliance, monitoring necessary labour resources, materials and equipment, and document submission
  • Client relationship maintenance and development in coordination with the Division Manager
  • Required “On Call” services on a rotational basis

Degree or Diploma in

  • Electrical Engineering Technician / Technology
  • Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in the Field Services trade may substitute for education requirements


  • 5+ years of experience working in utilities field services as a technical services representative


  • Familiar with electrical lockout / tag out procedure and have Electrical Safety Awareness
  • Familiar with Utility Work Protection Code (UWPC)
  • Familiar with & able to use standard hand tools and equipment
  • Familiar with testing different types of high voltage and low voltage equipment
  • Familiar with industry codes and standards (OESC, IEEE, NETA)
  • Willing and able to travel for out of town commissioning or maintenance projects
  • Valid G Ontario Drivers’ License
  • Security clearance requirements may be required
