The Payroll Administrator is located in Markham, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Payroll Manager. Their primary focus is performing tasks and responsibilities related to processing hourly (unionized) and salaried payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely data entry and processing of weekly timesheets
  • Setting up new employees, handling terminations and ROEs using HRDC WebROE
  • Processing of payroll payments via direct deposit and/or cheques
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees
  • Annual preparation of T4s
  • Ability to work with the unions – excellent communication skills
  • Update burden tables and monthly union payment reconciliation
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed PCP or is enrolled in a CPA program

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years payroll experience preferably with unionized payroll exposure

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Intermediate to advanced knowledge and understanding of:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • JD Edwards or ERP system in-house usage
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
