Reporting to the Regional Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible to assist with the preparation and reporting of financial statements and accounting reports, conforming to both accounting and organizational requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Regional Controller in timely and accurate execution of accounting functions and reporting
  • Review processes, establishing internal controls where needed and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Supervise accounting staff to ensure proper adherence to processes and procedures
  • Responsible for accurate and timely billing, supporting Accounts Receivable; support Accounts Payable
  • Support Cost Analyst role; provide review of monthly WIP analysis
  • Conduct account reconciliations, analysis and routine internal audits, identifying issues and solutions
  • Support the annual audit and other audits conducted for clients
  • Reporting for management, external to clients, providing suitable observations and recommendations
  • Government reporting and payment
  • Cash management and projections reports
  • Other reports and duties as required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education required in Accounting
  • CPA accreditation or enrolled in the program is required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience


SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of people and answer inquiries in a professional manner
  • Proven ability to accurately handle a high volume of transactions, meet deadlines and prioritize workload
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and analytical skills
  • Flexible team player with the ability to function independently while working in a team environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of JDE is preferred
  • A Nuclear Security Clearance must be achieved for employment on site
