Black and McDonald, is actively seeking an entry level GIS Technician with career aspirations of designing Streetlight and Traffic Signal infrastructure. Projects will involve database management, map creation, data analysis and some field survey. Entry level positions will be trained to accomplish these tasks using Black & McDonald’s in house procedures and processes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE
- Maintain GIS databases with information from sources including, but not limited to, work management systems, as-built construction drawings, work orders, completion records, field reports or other information from the job sponsor
- Perform and update records and maps in Arc Map
- Utilize ArcGIS Online and ESRI’s Field App Suite (Collector, Field Maps, Survey123).
- Occasionally, participate in the acquisition of field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance
- Track and manage projects
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Deliver reliable and accurate data on time
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION
BS in GIS or Science related field preferred, but not required
WORK EXPERIENCE: PREFERRED
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with others and to handle multiple tasks
- Requires the ability to respond rapidly to changing demands.
- Experienced with Microsoft applications such as Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in GIS
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization and with outside clients
