Reporting directly to the Director, Corporate HSE, this role will provide support to our Corporate HSE team and assist in the ongoing continuous improvement of the company’s health, safety and environment management system, and strategic initiatives. This role also provides administrative and organizational support to the regional and/or field/site HSE managers and advisors with a focus on ensuring consistency across all operations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Corporate HSE team on department tasks, actions and initiatives.
• Maintenance of the internal subcontractor pre-qualification portal and assist Regional HSE with approving subcontractors based on credentials entered by the subcontractors.
• Regional support for 3rd party subcontractor prequalification portals.
• Maintain the company HSE Management System; this includes policies, procedures, legislative compliances
• Support and organize the HSE department meetings, such as taking meeting minutes, sending invites, and updating correspondence as required.
• Support field operations by supplying materials or information as necessary, including safety alerts, bulletins, lessons learned and toolbox talks.
• Technical support, system monitoring, report building and account management and regional support on the company HSE digital solution.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of all information managed by the Corporate HSE team
• Regional HSE support for training records management of hourly workers.
• Assist and promote a respectful environment for all members of Black & McDonald Limited
• Special projects as assigned

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental studies, or related field, is an asset
• May be required to take additional courses as necessary to support the role
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• 1-3 years of related work experience preferred
• Experience with eCompliance (EcoOnline), an asset.
• Experience with various third-party prequalification sites (ISNetworld, Avetta, Contractor Check)
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency of office applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Adobe, etc.
• Working knowledge of related HSE legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws is an asset
• Aptitude for project management
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with internal departments, and external stakeholders
Physical Requirement:
• Frequent computer work
• May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Light lifting of supplies and materials
Work Environment:
• Traditional office setting
