ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Journeyman Plumbing Technician – Service member based out our Markham office to support our truck based service to various clients in the GTA.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain and various plumbing systems and components
- Replace and upgrade existing systems and components related to the plumbing trade
- Respond to emergency service calls within our client base
- Identify deficiencies and make recommendations to clients
- Complete work orders, deficiency reports, field quotations, estimates and daily time summaries in a timely fashion
- Measure, cut and connect piping using threading, brazing, and mechanical connection equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance as assigned
- Perform backflow tests and cross connection surveys
- Maintain a professional demeanour

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Backflow preventer certificate
- 5 years of experience in an Plumbing position in service, maintenance, replacement and installation for commercial & industrial sites
- Ability to read & work from mechanical schematics
- Valid G2 or G3 gas licence preferred
- Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License
- Strong mechanical ability and problem solving skills
- Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
- Good physical strength and stamina
- Ability to work well with co-workers and deal with customers
- Valid Plumber (JP) OCOT membership
- Must be a member of Local 46 in good standing
