As an intern, some of your roles and responsibilities may include:

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of technical standards and procedures to the set-up and use of the image software
  • Test and apply all proposed images destined for use on equipment deployed using industry standard methods
  • Analyze image/application functionality and determines if new/upgrade version of image/application operates as per specifications; look for solutions when conflicts occur
  • Collaborate with various vendors technical support specialists to resolve complex application, operating system, hardware and security related issues
  • Take corrective action to improve image performance based on recurring problems or issues
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance with all branches of IT (Systems, Application, Networking)
  • Work with IT Management to ensure license compliance
  • Research and learn technical details of all new hardware and imparting knowledge to other IT Staff
  • Evaluate current hardware and advise of future hardware upgrades to accommodate business needs to maintain productivity
  • Assist with application support specialist with lab imaging by imparting knowledge of image deployment systems and software
  • Configure and develop custom components with technology partners (analysts, developers, designers etc.) to meet requirements and goals
  • Share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (analyses reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication)
  • Act as the escalated technical resources for the organization
  • Act as a resource to the IT Infrastructure team to solve complex image/application issues
  • Answer user questions on operation and functionality on companywide used construction applications
  • Troubleshoot computer related problems, performing on-site analysis, diagnosis and repair computer hardware, mobile devices, laptops, printers, monitors, headsets, and displays
  • Enforce and oversee application and window patches
  • Produce software packages through the use of management systems for deployment
  • Enforce and oversee deployment of application and OS patches, BIOS updates, and accounts on a periodic basis
  • Rigorously build and test applications software packages through the use of management systems
  • Determine available equipment inventory and recommends appropriate device based on need
  • Arrang for defective part(s) under warranty to be sent back to vendor
  • Updating the Asset Tracking System to reflect disposed of equipment
  • Respond to work order request and coordinate shipment of special requested equipment to multiple regions
  • Maintaining inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Any additional opportunities to solidify the learning experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Mobility within the GTA is considered an asset
  • Completed or pursuing a degree or diploma in a related field.
