Summary of Position:

This position typically reports to the Division Manager and is responsible to provide overall administrative direction for one large or several smaller projects. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible of supervising the Project Managers and Coordinators in their function. Emphasis is placed on estimating, costs, scheduling, quality and overall project status. It is essential they establish and maintain excellent relationships with trade contractors, consultants and our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and provide leadership for safety, environment, and quality programs and policies

• In conjunction with the Project Management Office Manager, establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policies and contract specifications

• Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers

• Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships

• Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings

• Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates as required

• Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress

• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors

• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to direct report

• Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies

• Direct the execution team (superintendents), set and monitor the budget and productivity objectives

Education and Skill Requirements:

• Technical diploma or engineering degree, and/or equivalent trade experience and knowledge

• More than 15 years experience in project and contract management and also cost controlling in the industrial construction industry combined with supervisory and/or superintendent role

• Blueprint reading and project/structural/mechanical/electrical design interpretation

• Most of the experience should be in the heavy construction industry

• Bilingual: French & English
