ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of construction projects.

The Project Scheduler will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to create and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress, identify potential delays, and implement recovery strategies to keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
  • Create and maintain baseline schedules, identifying critical paths and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly to reflect actual conditions based on project managers updates.
  • Lead schedule review meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular schedule status reports and forecasts to management.
  • Evaluate resource requirements and allocations across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure alignment with master schedule.
  • Implement schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Integrate schedule data with cost control systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of scheduling experience in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Scheduling certifications ( PSP or CST or PMI-SP)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Familiarity with Lean Construction principles
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management techniques
  • Experience with multiple project types (commercial, industrial, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Full-time position, primarily office-based with occasional site visits
  • May require travel between multiple project sites
