The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a key role in the achievement of all people related goals for their assigned client groups at the Black & McDonald.
The HRBP provides day-to-day operational excellence in HR as well as leadership, sound guidance and support to the functional leaders in areas including hiring, employee relations, benefits, training, and other employee services. This position is based in our Brossard office and is responsible to compile, maintains, and processes information related to staffing, recruitment, training, employee relations, employee performance, and supports the performance management process.
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this position will identify opportunities, recommend, develop and implement solutions to assist their assigned client groups and the organization enhance employee experience. They will ensure the common daily human resources requirements of the regional team are met and will support the people related needs of their assigned client groups, both in terms of strategic initiatives and the day-to-day human resource requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide recruiting support for the region
- Administer employee onboarding process for new hires and ensure enrollment in appropriate in-house training sessions, manage client group use of HRIS system.
- Partner with managers and supervisors, providing guidance, assistance, and direction on employee relations matters
- Advise on and coordinate termination packages and facilitate termination meetings as required
- Coordination of the annual employee engagement survey process including focus groups and action plans, new hire and exit surveys.
- Administer, coordinate, and monitor short-term / long-term disability absences and liaise with group insurance provider as required
- Advise leaders and employees on Human Resources policies and processes
- Partner on organizational initiatives involving other functional groups and regions, lead special projects, etc. as required.
- Participate in any / all legal disputes associated with employment matters (i.e. wrongful termination, ESA, human rights, etc.)
- Partner and advise on coordination of discipline and / or corrective action
- Lead the development and implementation of appropriate career development plans / initiatives for high potential / high performing talent within client group
- Ensure data integrity with respect to all HR related systems via regular audit / review
- Conduct workplace investigations, document, and facilitate corrective outcomes, where necessary
- Support the coordination of rewards / recognition programs
- Other tasks as may be necessary to support business and people related needs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Preferably 7+ years of experience working in human resources, preferably within a fast-paced industry
- Experience as an HR partner in a complex business group within a highly matrixed organization servicing multiple sectors / industries
- Advanced ability to establish trust and credibility
- Advanced consulting skills along with a high degree of business acumen and ability to accurately assess business issues and provide sound advice and solutions
- Advanced relationship management abilities at all position levels
- Solid understanding of employment legislation including applicable Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Bilingual in French and English
