Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking a Facility Supervisor to ensure the delivery of high quality facility services to single or multiple clients sites located in the downtown Toronto Area. The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and delivering full facility management solutions including supervising, safety compliance, building staff and vendors, project work, space renovations, and client relationships. In addition you will ensure profitability through effective planning, management and development of effective controls and procedures.

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and delivering full facility management solutions including supervising, safety compliance, building staff and vendors, project work, space renovations, and client relationships. In addition you will ensure profitability through effective planning, management and development of effective controls and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Supervise the operation of the facilities in the areas of safety, productivity and efficiency to the standards of the contract and to the satisfaction of our customers
• Schedule, supervise and monitor subcontracted personnel as needed to accomplish tasks
• Maintain statistics, prepare justification and estimate manpower requirements; requisition and select qualified employees necessary to perform work
• Inventory and order equipment, materials and supplies for the maintenance department
• Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and other third parties to understand challenges and opportunities, ensure timely exchange of information and ensure service level requirements are met
• Develop and implement policies and procedures necessary to support the Facility
• Analyze and resolve interior design and space related problems caused by growth and restructuring
• Interface with internal and external customers ensuring effective communications regarding status and priority of work
• Review all expenditures for materials, equipment, tools, supplies and subcontractors
• Responsible for solving problems and/or conflicts and maintains open communication with the customer
• Successful completion of post-secondary education in facilities management or a related discipline
• 5 years of experience in building maintenance or related trade preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in the Facility Management industry
• Experience in maintaining and managing all building services utilizing contractors and in-house staff
• Proven skills in facility management, project management and contract management
• Multiple years of experience in a health care setting an asset
• P3 project experience an asset
• Must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities while demonstrating a strong attention to detail
• Must have a strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building structural systems
• Solid experience leading a mechanical/electrical maintenance team
• Knowledge of Local and National electrical codes, National Building Code and National Fire Code is an asset

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
