The Payroll Administrator is based in Markham, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Payroll Manager. Their primary focus is performing tasks and responsibilities related to processing salaried payroll under the direction of the Payroll Manager. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate and timely end to end processing of salary payrolls and payments via direct deposit; including new employee set up, actioning payroll advice forms, handling terminations including ROEs using WebROE
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for provincial items like WSIB/WCB, EHT
  • Annual reconciliation and preparation of T4, RL1, T2200

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed PCP
  • 2+ years full cycle payroll experience

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel –including vlookup, pivot tables etc)
  • JD Edwards or in-house ERP system an asset
  • Experience in processing payroll in all Canadian provinces and territories an asset.
  • Unionized construction experience an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a deadline driven environment.
